Argan oil has a very subtle but quite distincly nutty taste. People all over the world recommend it and it’s used by reputable chefs de cuisine. The nuts used for culinaire oil are lightly roasted. The oil is used in salad and is also a taste determinative in Amlou, a Maroccan traditional delicacy made of almonds, honey and argan oil.

Argan oil comes mainly from Morocco, it is produced from the fruit of the argan tree, it gives a fruit, a kind of large almond, which is dried in the sun. Once dried, the fruit is extracted from a core containing seeds: the amandon.
It takes a lot of fruit to produce argan oil, which is why it is considered precious. Indeed, for 100 kilos of fresh fruit, only 1 liter of oil is produced.
